THREE BEAUTY TIPS YOU WILL EVER NEED

03:38 Melka 0 Comments

You'll find them on your regular shampoo bottle, you'll hear them in beauty salons and will read about them in magazines and blogs. BEAUTY TIPS. They surround our world obsessed with appearance perfection and trigger the need to apply them in our everyday life,  regardless of what our bodies actually need, we blindly dig into yet another "pseudo-beauty" regime.

Cleanse, tone, use serum and moisturise
Get enough sleep
Drink eight glasses of water a day
Forget coffee if you are on a detox
Use fake tan instead of sunbeds
Apply face mask once a week
Never ever use you face cream on under eye area

The list is endless - and although these hints are supposed to preserve our beauty and well-being, they can also create a rather unhealthy situation called PRESSURE. Of course pressure can motivate many of us to achieve more career wise, when it comes to our looks however, it is nothing but a really stiff pain in the neck.

 Think yourself beautiful

Simple? Odd? Not specific? This is a powerful tip to help you notice that not the appearance that often is in need of care but your mind. You look exactly how you think. Fears and obsessions to keep up with so many beauty recommendations will  never help improve a dull complexion. On the other hand, a kind look at yourself is bound to give you more glowing and youthful skin.

Get dirty

As random as it may sound, this by all means is one of the most effective beauty tips you have ever read about. You can personally axe off my left arm if this one won't work for you. What you do is this:
you wear your newest sporty outfit and go for a workout in the great outdoors. The idea is to really go off the beaten track and  brave through the mud and puddles. Whatever you do - run, march, crawl, skip or cross train - do not be afraid of the dirt splashing about and landing on your calves. Be freed from constant "on guard " mode. Feeling free, tired and with ears full of  muck, you'll be  running your bath thinking "What a wonderful beauty treat a bath can be." Simple, liberating, calming, truly cleansing and ten times more enjoyable - what an anti-ageing boost for your body and soul.

Go natural

Let's face it, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to skin and body care products. To win customers, global promotional campaigns are being launched to influence our emotions. Match a product with archetype of a confident, strong, modern and successful woman, and thousands will identify they have to use this particular product, as if what's in a bottle or jar didn't matter that much.  It turned out recently we had been offered cosmetics overloaded with harmful substances, that over time of regular contact with skin they caused allergies, damage to skin and cumulation of dangerous chemicals in our system.
Therefore if you value your health and want to diminish the exposure to now-a-day's pseudo beauty products, do your research, find a brand that has values to provide honest information on ingredients, that uses natural extracts, and brings you real beauty benefits.

Please get in touch and comment, I would love to hear from you if you have your unique, unconventional and effective beauty tip to share. The most interesting tip will be rewarded.

Monday Motivational Talk

03:48 Melka 1 Comments

Are you still finding Mondays the most dreadful part of your week? I have three unique tips to share with you on how to get out of the unhappy mood.

1.Send a message to the world (via Twitter)

I know that we cannot all be writers with exquisite vocabulary bank in  our heads but one short message can be very therapeutic. The content of your tweet should express a promise to yourself or affirmation so that from the moment of sending it you subconsciously start working towards improving your day. Here are some examples:

"My Monday is Green Monday, I am having a green salad for lunch and I sense I am getting a bunch of tulips later from someone" - RT if you want my address  ;)

"I am extra generous to #people today, I keep finding ways to bring a #positive #change in others'  life".

"My dear followers! It's Monday again! Tweet a funny one and win a #Prize. (depending on your business, free gift for the funniest tweet)"

It really works, engaging more with others doesn't leave you in isolation, you have someone who virtually holds your hand and walk you towards a happy, calm and more productive day.

2.Do more than expected

This one may be the hardest to implement on Monday but just imagine how your whole week would feel if you did a little extra for your business, for your boss or for a stranger you randomly meet. I am thrilled when writing this as it has such a powerful impact on peoples' lives. Be ready to help, be prepared to give altruistically and you will be looked after by the universe. (No, it's not a load of pompous rubbish, just apply and see for yourself).

3. Be adventurous

In order to get rid of  Monday's  "doom and gloom" attitude, actively work on trying something different today. It is sure proof method to jump out of  a routine that may be dragging you down. Repetition is only a blessing if you repeat good habits. Small changes will grow into satisfying experiences. Maybe all you need today is having a new, healthier breakfast. Maybe you wanted to say something important to someone but lacked in courage? Today is the moment for it.  What about that parachute jump you always wanted to do?Research and book immediately - it will carry you through to the weekend in a hyper excited mode. Be bold, be willing. Smile :-)

WHAT'S THE BUZZ ABOUT? - TROPIC EYEBROW DEFINE PALETTES

16:15 Melka 0 Comments

Not many of you have heard of Tropic Brow Define Palette but it has already caused a stir in beauty world. This is because, Tropic - a proudly British brand, has come up with an innovative way to create that perfectly groomed  look.

Why is it innovative?

Firstly, it is a  PURE, HONEST and EFFECTIVE product. All of Tropic range, both skincare and make up abides by the above virtues. They are products of nature - in  a jar. Yes, the term "natural" has become a buzzword in beauty industry over the recent years and credibility of many brands has been questioned. Tropic however, is gaining more and more trust amongst its customers as not only it delivers cosmetics that are good for your skin but also provides you with clear,  honest list of ingredients.

Secondly, Tropic's  innovative mindset is backed by the QUALITY of its products. I was absolutely astounded when my first Tropic Brow Define palette arrived. The packaging is sleek and modern, palettes have mirrors inside, and they seem to be "tough cookies" if you wanted to carry your brow kits in your handbags. The product itself is a masterpiece. It stays put for hours after application, doesn't stain your skin and is created on "all in one concept" which delivers desired make up look plus nourishment for your skin. A busy "multitasker" .

Palette is designed to be used with stencils which gives you the confidence when applying the colour over your brows. Stencils can be bought separately from palettes, but I recommend you consider buying the whole Tropic Brow Perfection Gift Box Set together with Organic Dual-End Bamboo Brush and Stencils.

Tropic offers  Brow Define Palette  in three shades: Bistre, Ochre and Taupe. See pictures below

BISTRE

I was especially impressed with the highlighter, it finishes the whole look by adding definition to the eye area, I tried it on the apples of my cheeks and it worked wonderfully.
OCHRE

I am tempted to try this ochre shade on my eyelids, I have the feeling it would create an interesting effect. Something to experiment with.
TAUPE

What is your method for perfectly groomed eyebrows? Do you have a favourite natural make up product you can't live without? Comment, connect, share.

Monday Motivational Talk

Have you woken up to a day full of chores and routines that just have to be done? Not happy with them? If your answer was yes then read on.
I am neither a life coaching expert nor do I have a perfect universal solution to challenges people may come across but at least I can share with you my own techniques of turning the day around from a loooooong and dull into a vibrant and more productive.

1. FOR YOUR SOUL

A perfect way to tweak your not so good Monday morning mood is to do something you really love doing, immediately, as you get up of the bed. What's mine? Watching Australian Open live at the moment, (yes, tennis is a cure for my soul, watching or playing) and when it finishes, my mornings will start with playing music, the music that makes me feel energised and empowered. Example:

2.FOR YOUR MIND

I have nothing against The National News but news usually fail to stimulate my mind. Reading other people's blogs and articles on leadership, business or technology innovations are doing it for me. This not because reading is my passion, this is because I read about something I have found burning passion for. Do it too. Find area of interests and deepen your knowledge, in the morning, right there, sipping your aromatic coffee. It's fun and it warms up your grey matter to actively work for the whole day. You'll leave your house loaded with ideas and positivity.
Some websites to look at:

3.FOR YOUR BODY

This one is my favourite area to focus on. Fitness and sports. You may want to start the day with a few yoga stretches to lubricate your joints and oxygenate all your inner organs. Morning Running has always had many fans. Absolutely fantastic method to jog your way into more focused and productive day. Tight for time excuse is coming to your head? Just make sure you have enough time later in life to earn enough money that pay all your medical care costs. Ok, agree, you exercise in the evenings, prepare a plan in the morning at least.

Here's mine for today:

Venue: Local Park
Type of workout: High Intensity Interval Training
Time frame: 45minutes: Four rounds of ten exercises, using 45sec/15sec time pattern, (45 secs is high intensity and 15 secs is rest)
Exercises: Run in spot; Squats with weights; Mountain climbers; Spider Push ups; Run in Spot; Bench step ups with weights; Mountain climbers; Leg pull ups from hanging position; Run in Spot; Superman Planks alternating legs and arms.

I urge you! Go the distance to be your best, right here, right now, using your own unique methods! The satisfaction and the difference you will start making in your own and others' lives is worth every effort.

THREE IMPORTANT FACTORS THAT MAKE A GOOD BODY CREAM

10:15 Melka 0 Comments

Treat your body with as equal care as your face - my all times beauty motto I live by everyday. I splashed and rubbed tons of creams, lotions and serums in my body over the years. Some of them smelled beautifully,
others were unscented. Some of them had light texture, others were thick butters and  a few cost me a fortune. Literally, I live in a relationship with body lotions and it was a bit frustrating when I came to realisation that I had used so many of them and couldn't have been faithful to one or perhaps two products. This is because I have created my subjective criteria which I assess my next body lotion with.

Ingredients Used:
This is the strictest rule I apply when choosing a cream. I want my cream to be power-packed with nutrients extracted from plants, seeds or fruits. Parabens, silicones or preservatives are an absolute No No. I enthusiastically welcome natural essential oils and butters in my cream. Marine algae, or seaweeds are very desirable for their firming and anti-ageing properties.

Texture and Absorbency:
As obvious as it should be, not all of the body care brands quite got it yet. Here is the reminder: US GIRLS DON'T DO GREASE ON SKIN. We haven't got time to keep rubbing in a blob that feels like it has been destined to be applied to our morning toast rather.

The After-Effect:
The most crucial criterion and the final "decider". If my skin is soft for longer than three hours, if it feels smooth and velvety, if it improves elasticity and cares for my collagen stores, if it makes me want to touch my body again and again - only then I have found my long term relationship potential hidden in a tube or a pot.

And if it wasn't for the one recent "high-flying" cream I would still have been stuck with shelves of beauty pseudo heroes. Thank you Tropic Body Love. You tick all the boxes.

Monday Motivational Talk

I strongly believe that beauty comes from within. What is happening inside of our bodies, both physically and mentally, will shine on the outside and further onto the world that surrounds us. You could have found yourself in a situation when you have had to hide your bad mood or physical aches to just get through the daily chores. Wasn't that the worst feeling ever? Have you ever wondered why you struggled so much putting that brave face on? Read on as I may have an answer.

I have realised a while ago that I was given my body to use it to accomplish great things in life, my true potential. I also realised that this body requires a lot of attention and care to help me carry me closer to my goals as opposed to disturbing me. Would I be able to use my creative side if I was obese and generally unfit? This enlightenment  made me promise myself a something very important. The promise to myself sounded like this:

"I am born into this world in a body. I am part of the mother nature but I want to make change by living a meaningful life that extends beyond the physical existence. I can only do this however, if I look after my physical occurrence by exercising, eating well and using pure, natural cosmetics."

This is like taking this first little step before leaping and reaching for the bigger accomplishments. Guess what, after I had come to realisation I am made of flesh and blood, as obvious as it may be, it started rewarding me with determination, consistency and energy to get that yet another tough workout done. I make it an absolute priority to take  time to exercise, to prepare healthy meals and to apply nourishing body cream after every shower, without a fail.  I no longer feel guilty when I spend a little extra money on a new beauty product that I know will support my outside beauty and will bring out the best of me.

Think about it, be yourself, and most importantly...take a good care.

I am off to play tennis.

Just have a look at my damaged pair of tennis shoes, it is a perfect symbol of what I wrote about in this post, commitment and sacrificing time to be at  your best physically, all the rest will follow.

Worn out sole, Empowered soul

WHAT I FOUND IN TROPIC SKIN REVIVE NATURAL MOISTURISER

05:03 Melka 0 Comments

Is there a moisturiser that makes your complexion glow with healthy, rested look, that absorbs easily and nourishes your skin to make it age proof? A moisturiser, that is from naturally derived plant extracts, doesn't irritate the skin and is innocent enough that could be added to your detox morning smoothie? These questions will without a doubt generate tens of yes-es and no-s, can even trigger a bit of an argument. All of us will agree on one matter: we are all looking for that perfect, unique beauty potion that makes our skin look at its best, with no discolourations, spots, broken veins or lines. It is a lone venture and comes with sacrifices of experimenting on our own skin - arguably our largest organ. Every woman or man will have gone through thousands of face cream pots by the end of her/his life, and, what's peculiar, with no total satisfaction from using them.
I may sound a little too excited at this point but I have stopped my searches. I have found a moisturiser that ticked all the boxes. It only took me three days of regular application to discover real benefits of using the hero of all natural skincare, the humble protector of my sensitive skin, the mighty TROPIC SKIN REVIVE nourishing cream concentrate. It is packed full with concentrated plant actives like rosehip and shea butter, you'll find the super blueberry extract with echinacea to brighten your complexion, plus a vitamin E with the hard working sea kelp to nourish and firm your skin. And that is not the end of the list - The Tropic cream is infused with essential oils of Sweet Orange, Rose Geranium and Frankincense to make your facial regime a spa experience, every morning and evening, without a fail.
I am relieved and happy. My searches are done. I am resting happy on my sofa, absorbing the good effects of my new, modest but powerful moisturiser. Do the same, save yourself time and money. See photo below.
